Final Foxhunt

Castle Limberry

No sooner had we rid the town of Limberry from the marquis’s despotism, or the tavernmaster had errands for us to run. Our inability to escape the influx of errands notwithstanding, one request jumped out from the board:

Zerro had returned. And how. This time it was not worldly treasure this fiendish blackguard was after, but the heart of a young lady named Focara. At least, I hope the note Zerro left the lady was not meant to be taken literally.

The lady’s father implored whomever was willing to take on his request to catch this thief, and who were we to ignore his plea? After all, we had some unfinished business with Zerro ourselves.

This time we would get him.

The Mask of Zerro

Hiding in the shadows like true ninjas, we soon learned the truth behind Zerro’s letter. Perhaps lucky for Focara herself, he had never been after her heart in the literal sense, but neither had he been after her heart in the poetic sense. In fact, it was an old coin pressed by her late grandfather, which she sought to return to his grave.

Sadly, Zerro got away yet again, though at least Focara was safe and sound. But he didn’t leave without the promise that as long as there was injustice and hope in Ivalice, he would return.

Well, guess he would return soon enough then.

I am Bathsua, hunter of foxes, and these are my memoirs.
