Joyous news!
The squires will continue their journey through Ivalice sooner than expected. As of today, they are ready and geared up to conclude the tale of the War of the Lions.
If you, my precious reader, don’t know what all of this means, I will gladly direct you to the previous [PSA] posted several weeks ago. This will tell you the story of my phone’s journey into the seas, clearly not having equipped the ability Waterwalking, and the loss of my savegame data up to that point.
Now, my dear reader, I have caught my squires up to where they were before our non-samurai phone went Waterwalking, and they even brought some good news!
Mainly, there have been no changes in the script. Of course, save for re-reading my own entries detailing this, I have not been able to exactly reconstruct the scenes that have played out. That said, I still have all the characters I had several weeks ago, though their stats are likely quite different. I have been able to unlock more jobs and level grind the jobs and I have utilised several other tactics to ensure that their unit levels didn’t go through the roof so that the main scenario encounters were still rather enjoyable.
Because of the learning curve that came with this rather… unique walkthrough, I have also been able to steal more things intentionally and tame, breed and poach rare monsters earlier in the game. So now my squires do have some equipment that they didn’t when they got stranded in Mullonde.
What’s next?
Because this catch-up happened sooner than I had expected it would (I admit, I did some heavy duty grinding on FFT:WotL this week, because I was pretty sick and couldn’t do much else anyway), there were still some things I had planned that will still go through.
This Sunday will see why our squires were playing the floor is lava on Mount Bervenia (and it wasn’t to find Cloud’s sword, which he insists is on it’s peak), but there were several things I wanted to cover that I couldn’t really cover as Bathsua without breaking the fourth wall and making her an omniscient first person character. So Sunday’s blog will also cover some details on the jobs.
There is still much more that I wanted to cover, but for now, after Sunday, we’ll dive right into the playthrough and the endgame of FFT:WotL together with Bathsua and the entire gang, still all present. Not like the way my phone decided to dive right into water though…
Starting Wednesday, and henceforth on Wednesdays and Sundays, you will be updated by Bathsua on Ramza’s journey to save Ivalice and being sidetracked by enticing deep dungeons.
Stay tuned!
And thank you for staying with me! You, my dear readers, you’re the best!
