Test run

The clockwork city of Goug

Greg’s father owned a pharmacy in Gariland. Greg had inherited his talent and sense of concocting potions, and had taken great care to ensure that we all knew how to use potions and ether of varying strength, but most importantly, the phoenix down.

Battles had gone much better with this knowledge of chemistry, and I often thought about both Greg’s father and Greg whenever I fumbled for another tuft of phoenix down on the field. Just like now.

Mustadio was just fine after one tuft, and the automaton was still dancing its little victory dance. Despite being furious at Ramza for the order he had given it, Mustadio did realise the convenience of having Construct 8 around, having experienced its firepower first hand. It should join us, he decided. He wanted to gauge how it would act in the field.

Ramza was its owner, so he would have to accept the construct into our ranks. Of course, Ramza did not hesitate. But, Mustadio warned him, if he ever set that construct on him again, by the gods, he would…

Feeling hot

It was time for us to go back on our way to Zeltennia, to meet with Delita to get our bearings on what was happening here in Ivalice. All packed and ready to go, we set out to Riovanes, Construct 8 in tow.

Ramza was eager to put it to the test. Luso had his notes ready to go, and Mustadio had checked the construct one last time. We were ready to pass the mining town of Gollund on to Riovanes and then Zeltennia when Beowulf’s dragon Reis decided she didn’t want to go there again. Another road had opened up to Riovanes parallel to Gollund. We could take that one instead.

Sure, dragon, you might be able to traverse a live volcano easily, but we’re humes, you know! Oh well, might as well, what better place to put Ramza’s new automaton toy to the test?

Mount Bervenia it was, then.

I am Bathsua, feeling rather heated, and these are my memoirs.
