Scenic route

Riovanes

It was decided, we needed to go to Zeltennia. At least, that was what Ramza had decided over some mead in Riovanes town, sporting his spiffy new gear. Where did he get that new armor from, I wonder?

Delita was there, with Ovelia, Ramza knew. I vaguely heard him prattling on to Marach and Rapha, as they moved on to different matters while I went to the tavernmaster for another round. It seems that our reputation as adventurers and treasure hunters had preceded us even to Riovanes proper, because along with the jugs of mead, he told me about some errands that needed to be run.

With the tavernmaster’s offer in mind I carefully made my way through the crowd back to the table that Alicia beckoned me to. I barely placed the jugs on the table when she gestured to a timidly pacing Mustadio and whispered that we needed to help the poor lad out. It was obvious.

It was the month of Cancer, and it had just been Agrias’s birthday. Mustadio had only found out after her birthday had come and gone, and now he was chastising himself over it. Lavian and Alicia had taken pity on him, and had wanted to help him out. We all knew and saw it: Mustadio had been taken in by Agrias’s… Er… Grace? No, probably not. Most definitely her pure heart and her obliviousness to his advances. Not that they were all that clear and direct either, like the stumbling fool that he was. They were perfect for each other.

Lavian and Alicia had been under Agrias for years, and they knew the perfect gift for Mustadio. But to make their plan work, we had to earn just a bit more gil.

To Goug!

What better way to earn gil than with running errands? So it had been decided then. We convinced all the others to join us on the errands as Ramza and the others discussed proceedings over a pint. We went all over the map, running errands as the tavernmasters saw fit. From Riovanes to Dorter to Eagrose, to Warjilis and then… Finally, to Goug.

There, another surprise awaited us. Several months had passed and according to Lavian we still hadn’t amassed enough gil for their plan to take hold. Mustadio’s father, however, had found something in our absence that he wanted us to see. Though he was convinced that the shiny metal ball he had found was relevant to our quest, we had to pass.

We had errands to run. In the name of love. Damn it.

I am Bathsua, level 5 adventurer and treasure hunter, and these are my memoirs.

  1. I love your series on FF Tactics. I just finished FFXII myself and I enjoyed seeing the world of Ivalice in greater detail. I look forward to more of your posts!

Unrelated: I can see you just started blogging this year. I’d love to see you get some more followers. Have you ever stopped by the Geek Bloggers United facebook group? They are super friendly and supportive. πŸ™‚

    1. Hi, thank you for your feedback! I am playing FFXII on Switch now, another playthrough and another platform. I’m in love with the realm of Ivalice, and any excuse to play it again is good enough for me. I’d also love to see many more stories (Final Fantasy or otherwise) set in this Ivalice, though I admit I’m partial to strategic/tactical rpg’s and I would probably be disappointed if it was anything other than that style πŸ˜…

I did indeed only start this blog this year, will definitely check the facebook group, I’m sure I can always do with more traffic here 😊

      1. My pleasure! If you like square tactics, I’d definitely suggest checking out the Banner Saga trilogy and Wargroove. There’s also an interesting Kickstarter one called Grand Guilds that looks to be shaping up well. Then of course we fan Fire Emblem coming this summer finally.
